Lion Brand is a family-owned and operated business and
a beloved American brand since 1878. Today, the
business is run by four members of the fourth
generation of Blumenthals. Their web site is the most
visited site on the Internet of all sites that feature
yarn, or provide content on knit and crochet. Over 1
million unique visitors come to the site each month for
the latest patterns and ideas about using Lion Brand.
Their weekly newsletter reaches nearly 570,000
subscribers. The Martha Stewart poncho pattern,
introduced on our site, was requested well over two
million times. Martha Stewart’s Web site referred
people to us for the famous poncho pattern and we
received over 10 million media hits as a result of the
ensuing stories that have appeared in every major
publication from Newsweek to People to the Wall Street
Journal. The site currently has a library of 1300 free
patterns. You can search by craft, categories, size,
cost, yarn and skill level.

I started the Quilter's Cache in 1997 as a one page
tribute to my favorite pastime of quilting. I
envisioned it and sketched as an ALL ORANGE page, using
MS Paint...sent it on to my then beau, now hubby, Joe,
who made it into a web page. At that time, I couldn't
find many patterns online, and thought it would be SO
COOL to draw a pattern every month...and from that
humble beginning sprang this monstrosity we now know as
the Quilter's Cache...which now has all sorts of
Instructional Pages, and hundreds of free patterns, all
of which are hand drawn, well mouse drawn, without the
use of any quilt programs.
There are so many children and adults in need of a
bright colored cap to wear when they lose their hair to
chemotherapy. At a time when their lives are in enough
turmoil, perhaps having a cap someone has made just for
them, will bring some renewed hope into their life.
